Cosplay gatherings are enjoyable events where the slower pace gives the community a chance to have fun while sharing their love for the craft. This year’s Norcal Cosplay Fall Gathering was no exception with a good turn-out and beautiful setting at Vasona Lake Park in Los Gatos. Our hosts, Oscar Cwajbaum and Becca “Bekalou” Parker where terrific about keeping the event running smoothly and fun for everyone.
By the time I showed-up the event was in full swing with cosplayers displaying their wonderful creations, photographers/videographers working their magic, and people just enjoining the sunshine. I decided to work as many shoots as I could without sacrificing time to chat and interact with people. The park setting lent itself to some fantastic backgrounds with a lake, grassy hill, and wooded area. I tried to take advantage of each and the cosplayers were really great about moving from one area to another.
Overall, the gathering was a boon for both cosplayers and photographers to share ideas, get to know each other, and take advantage of beautiful settings beyond the typical concrete walls. I’m already looking forward to the winter gathering.
